About the role:
We are currently seeking a Processing Superintendent for our Coal Handling Preparation Plant at our Wilpinjong mine. Our Wilpinjong mine is an open-cut coal mine located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.
We are in a pretty exciting phase, as we look to add to our team with those who share similar goals of setting ambitious goals and then self determine that avenue towards success. We have a mine life in the 2030s and have a collaboration of teammates looking to extend that to multiple decades.
Across the entire operation's stakeholder teams in plant operations, maintenance, engineering and production, we are looking for those who want to innovate or love working to a high level and driving a position of excellence.
Reporting directly to a senior leader on site in the Mine Maintenance & CHPP Manager, the scope of your role will be to guide a tight crew and operate all areas of the Coal Handling Preparation Plant in line with production schedules. The role also offers the opportunity for career development for the right candidate.
We are looking for someone able to demonstrate, through collaboration, a history of effective leadership and accountability in delivering output goals.
Success will be instantly recognisable through your facilitation of the team's achievement of high performance targeted metrics in both safety and production.
Duties will include:
- Planning, scheduling & coordinating the day to day work operating and monitoring the preparation plant to optimise production;
- Build capability through coaching, mentoring and providing technical advice to the site team
- Clearly model & demonstrate in a team environment to safely achieve company objectives;
- Identify, report and act on all hazards and comply with the Health, Safety and Environment Management System;
- Guide the Operator / Maintainers (mostly mechanical & electrical trade based) team to undertake first pass assessment of the plant and associated hardware;
- Able to proactively recognise issues that may affect production, offer solutions and effectively executive remediation;
- Oversee the operation of stockpile dozers to manage the product coal stockpile, reclaim operations and train loading in line with schedules and blend parameters;
- Maintain CHPP equipment as requested during scheduled maintenance periods;
- Timely data collation, analysis and sharing of key work management metrics on a weekly and monthly basis
- Lead and support continuous improvement opportunities for production, quality control, maintenance and operational nonconformities
- Working with multiple stakeholder teams to ensure goals and targets are achieved within your own team and the wider business.
