About the Role

ABC Capricornia, based in Rockhampton, is recruiting for a Chief of Staff to join the leadership group of ABC Regional Queensland and to lead and inspire the local team.
In this key role you will develop the team, build and maintain a collaborative and high-performance culture, and provide editorial leadership in planning and production to create distinctive and compelling content across all platforms.
You will drive daily news coverage across digital, television, radio and social media as well as managing local radio programs.
We are looking for an experienced journalist who understands how to engage and grow the audience, how to inspire a high-performing and complex team and how to deliver real impact for the community.
With strong editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse information and exercise reliable judgement, in this key role you will bring:?
- Excellent news judgement.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams and mentoring colleagues.
- Strong understanding of the issues that affect and interest the audience.
- High-level problem solving, organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with people from a range of diverse backgrounds.
