BRAND-NEW STATE OF THE ART CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING PLANT
Omega Chemicals has embarked on a new project with a newly built manufacturing plant in Gladstone QLD. The build is almost complete, and we are now seeking mature minded Chemical Plant Operators and a Plant Manager to join our team!

Plant Manager (1 position paying $140K+ per year)
The Chemical Plant Manager will assume a pivotal leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing facility. The primary responsibility is to ensure the safe, efficient, and productive functioning of the plant while upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position combines strategic planning, operational expertise, and team leadership to drive the success of our facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Select and manage a team of chemical plant technicians, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure their professional growth and performance optimization.
- Monitor and assist daily manufacturing operations, including batch processing, reaction monitoring, quality control testing and equipment maintenance, to ensure the consistent production of high-quality chemicals.
- Monitor and assist daily operations including loading/unloading vehicles/tankers, ordering supplies and equipment including raw materials.
- Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, operational procedures, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that products meet the specified quality standards, conducting regular checks and audits to maintain product integrity.
- Continuously seek opportunities to optimize production processes, reduce waste, increase efficiency, and enhance overall plant performance.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts during equipment breakdowns, process deviations, or other operational issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities, working closely with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production activities, process changes, safety incidents, and other relevant data to support regulatory compliance and future analysis.
- Foster open and effective communication channels between the production team, management, and head office to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Identify training needs and opportunities for continuous skill development within the plant technician team, promoting a culture of learning and growth.
- Performing technical duties, troubleshooting, maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of plant equipment and systems. Flexibility to adapt to varying roles within the plant during situations is a key aspect of this position.
- The above position would also require some initial travelling to Melbourne for training where a current plant exists. Also meeting with management and design meetings would also be required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience in chemical manufacturing or processing, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of chemical processes, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using relevant software and systems for plant management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Budgeting and cost management experience.
Plant Operators (2 positions paying $40 per hour)
Chemical Plant Operators, will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of the manufacturing facility and will be responsible for monitoring equipment, controlling processes, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality are maintained at all times.

Qualification and Skill
- Previous experience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
