Chef (Middlemount)

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Chef in Middlemount to support the Head Chef and Sous Chefs with daily operations and food service, including routine meals and service. The Chef will work across a 14/7 day DIDO roster.

About the role

  • Ensure efficient food preparation and delivery of meal services from production facilities
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers and barbeques
  • Support and participate in the implementation and management of the Food Safety Program
  • Clean, sanitise and maintain cooking utensils, equipment and food preparation areas
  • Participate in regular stock take an inventory control activities
  • Check, record and sign off on all shift cleaning schedules, and documentation relating to incoming goods, food holding units and temperature probes

What we're looking for

  • Australian recognised Commercial Cookery qualification
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in large commercial kitchens
  • Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards, relevant legislation and statutory obligations
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to high standards of customer service
  • HACCP Level 2 certification (plus)
  • Fully Vaccinated against Covid-19 by 1st March 2022 (Vaccination Certificate or Proof of Valid Medical Exemption will be required)
