CQUniversity’s Facilities Management Directorate (DFM) team is responsible for matching the planning and management of the University estate – including buildings and assets – with CQUniversity’s strategic vision. As a Business Support Assistant, you will be an essential part of DFM, ensuring the seamless execution of financial and administrative tasks that keep our operations running smoothly.
In this role you will be responsible for undertaking financial and administrative duties within allocated timeframes to meet strategic objectives. You will assist with budget preparations and reviews, ensure accurate financial record-keeping, and provide administrative support to the Executive Support Officer and wider DFM team. To excel in this role, you will possess a strong foundation in financial management and accounting, coupled with adept administration skills.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-orientated individual to join us in providing essential financial and administration support services. You will be the heart of our team, working collaboratively to ensure the efficient functioning of the DFM.

Position Requirements
- Have completed a relevant qualification combined with 3-4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of experience/education; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Understanding of financial management and accounting concepts and processes and an ability to acquire knowledge of CQUniversity’s financial policies and processes.
- Proven ability to organise work, meet deadlines and resolve problems with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated analytical ability and proven ability to develop refined and accurate documents including reports, memorandums, letters and email correspondence.
- Skilled in computer operations, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of business support software such as word processing, spreadsheets, database systems, email and corporate finance systems.
