Business Administration Traineeship at Oaka Constructions QLD Pty Ltd

We are a civil contracting business servicing the mining, earthmoving and commercial services sectors in Central QLD. We have specific expertise in remote mine site earthworks and services, road building and maintenance and commercial maintenance work.

Given our expansion and growth over the past two years, we are looking for an enthusiastic business administration trainee to join our small but dynamic team based at our head office in Gladstone QLD.

Previous experience is not essential however being comfortable with computer Microsoft Office programs is an advantage. We are looking for someone who is reliable, keen, and eager to learn. All training and assistance to gain the certificate will be provided.

Key responsibilities include:

  • General office duties
  • Answering and redirecting incoming phone calls
  • Accommodation bookings for employees working on mine sites and remotely
  • Flight bookings for employees
  • Maintain employee training requirements and schedule as required
  • Ordering and supply of employee uniforms
  • Ordering of office stationery and amenities as required
  • Data entry, document management and electronic filing
  • Distribution of incoming and outgoing correspondence
  • Weekly collection of mail
  • Monitor and manage administration email account
  • Administration support to all Oaka Construction staff
  • ADHOC tasks as requested by relevant management
  • Accounts assistance as required (entry of supplier invoices)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe

  • Be able to prioritise tasks and work to a deadline
  • A bubbly and positive attitude
  • A current driver’s license
  • Willingness to complete a Certificate III in Business

Applicants that are eligible for the Back to Work Youth Boost Funding are encouraged to apply. The funding is available to applicants aged between 15 and 24 years old who have been unemployed for a minimum of 8 weeks prior to commencing employment.
