Boilermaker / Welder / Fitter Positions

Origin Group (QLD) Pty Ltd are currently seeking experienced and motivated Fitters, Welders and Boilermakers (Steel, Stainless Steel & Aluminium).  We are looking for someone who is interested in working locally around the Mackay region to join our team. We have a combination of workshop and local site work available. This includes work at the Ports, Sugar Mills, Fuel Terminals, and our Workshop located in Paget. 



  • Trade Qualification.
  • Ability to work with a team or independently.
  • Attention to detail & quality control.
  • Proven Welding and Fabricating / Mechanical Fitting experience.
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to train / guide apprentices.
  • Any additional certificates / high risk licenses will also be well regarded (Doggers, Riggers, Elevated Work Platforms, Working at Heights and Confined Space).


  • Immediate Start. 
  • Ongoing Work – minimum of 38hrs/week.
  • Regular overtime available. 
  • Attractive hourly rate + penalties if applicable (based on experience level). 
  • Attendance incentives if applicable.
  • Weekly pay.
  • Permanent Position after 3-month probation period for the right candidates.

Origin Group is a Mackay Local Engineering Company that specialize in Fabrication, Engineering, Mechanical Installation and Mechanical repairs to the Mining, Sugar, Petro-chemical, Agricultural and Construction industries. Due to customer demand and required services we have recently upgraded to a new facility designed to enable us to increase the scale of projects and size of fabrications we can offer.


Our standard workshop hours are Monday – Thursday between 6:00am – 4:00pm and Friday 6:00am – 2:00pm and on a Saturday from 6:00am – 12:00pm as required.

Local site work hours can vary from 8hr – 12hr days as required by our customers. 

** Welder / Boilermaker – Applicants may be required to complete and pass a weld test **
