About the NDIA

The purpose of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability. The NDIA will also provide great benefit to the families and carers of Australians living with a disability. The NDIS is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean peace of mind for every Australian, for anyone who has, or might acquire, a disability.

About the Position

The NDIA are currently recruiting for multiple opportunities at the APS 4 level across Australia. Current roles at this level include: APS 4 Planner
  • APS 4 Planner
  • APS 4 Access Assessor
  • APS 4 Operations & Housing Support Officer
APS4 roles play a key role for the NDIA by gathering information from participants and external stakeholders. By utilising and interpreting legislation, policy and practice guidance the roles will review, process and assess documentation to ensure a planning or access decision/s are made and/or resolved in accordance with policy and legislation. The position will be required to communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex enquiries.

APS4 roles need to be attentive towards the principles, standards and timelines set out in the Participant Service Charter which outlines the NDIA’s commitment to participants.

Please note, roles may work within any team or branch in the Participant Experience Delivery Group which includes Internal Reviews and Complaints, National Access and Reviews, Operations and Housing Support and National Delivery.

Position Specifics

  • Dependent on the role the appropriate Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People check may be required as per State/Territory legislation. A number of roles, activities or work types within the National Disability Insurance Agency are covered by government Health Orders or Directives that require mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations. Where a government Order or Directive applies, successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption as per ATAGI guidance, prior to commencement.
