About your role

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician to join our Maintenance Team at Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL).  If you enjoy a challenge and are passionate about safety, teamwork and continuous improvement, this is the time to join our business.

Reporting directly to the Supervisor – Electrical Integrity, you will contribute to our Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by:

  • Responsible for the service, repair and maintenance of site wide air conditioning and refrigeration systems ensuring their reliability and safe function.
  • Join a progressive HVAC team in a challenging and supportive environment with a high priority on continuous improvement.
  • The ability to safely work as an individual and within a team environment.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with site health, environmental and community policies, systems and procedures.
  • Effectively communicating with section customers and peers to safely achieve maximum productivity of a high standard.

What you will bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you should have: 

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Trade qualified in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
  • Hold a Restricted Electrical Licence 
  • Hold a current Refrigerant Licence
  • Post-trade experience in heavy industry air conditioning maintenance would be advantageous.
  • A strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement and teamwork
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a focus on customer service and continuous improvement
