Accounts & Payroll Officer

Job Description

VEX Engineering Services is a local Mackay based and family orientated company that believes in putting our people first.   

Our aim is to bring the right people and services together, to achieve mechanical and structural support solutions to our trusted clients. Spanning across multiple industries in Queensland including Mining, Manufacturing, Construction and Government projects.


Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Processing of Purchase Orders

Invoicing Customer and Clients

Processing of subcontractor tax invoices

Maintaining of accounts email

e-filing of tax invoices & statements 

Setting up new suppliers in Quickbooks

Reconciling of accounts

Fortnightly payroll

Ensuring all allowances, deductions etc are processed in pay run

Onboarding new employees into Quickbooks

Reporting Payroll tax, Superannuation statements, IAS & BAS on a monthly/quarterly basis



Essential Skills & Qualifications: 

Experience working in a similar role with strong focus on attention to detail.

Ability to prioritise own workload and multi-task.

Proficiency in Quickbooks or similar bookkeeping programs 

Excellent communication skills, a positive outlook and enjoy working as part of a team

Passion for what you do and the important role you play in the business

Experience in interpreting legislation, awards and policies is desirable

Strong problem solving skills
