Energy Queensland has a 12 month fixed term opportunity for a Service Desk Officer to be located at Rockhampton, and are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates.

The role

The Service Desk Officer is responsible for providing a first point of contact for the support and delivery of high-quality end user digital services to Energy Queensland and are instrumental in providing operational knowledge and experience for incident management and request fulfillment.

The candidate

Critical to your success in the role is your:

  • Degree qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in resolving problems with PC systems, peripherals, desktop operating systems and common desktop application products such as MS Office, Internet Explorer and email and/or experience with deployment and configuration scripts on a Microsoft platform and with deploying software installation packages using scripts and packaging tools;
  • Proven ability to work as a member of a high-performing, motivated and proactive team to meet agreed targets and objectives;
  • Microsoft Certified Professional desirable, however not essential;
  • Knowledge of Service Desk system (ServiceNow) and IT Tools;
  • Understanding of IT service principles and service levels.

The position has been evaluated as Professional and Managerial Grade One (PM1). Remuneration will range from $83,202 - $136,243. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.
